The Journal of Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders is the open access, peer-reviewed official journal of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute, published on behalf of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. It provides a forum for scientific inquiry of the highest standard in the fields of diabetes and metabolic disorders.

Reviewer of the Year 2014
We would like to announce that the 2014 reviewer of the year is Dr Ozra Tabatabaei-Malazy.
Ozra Tabatabaei-Malazy was born in 1966 in Iran. She trained as a general physician in 1995. Since 1998, she joined the Endocrinology & Metabolism Research Institute of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) as a researcher which her main research field focused on type 2 diabetes mellitus. In 2009, she graduated from the Health Faculty of TUMS and gained an MPH in Health. Then, she continued her scientific education in field of "oxidative stress and diabetes" as a PhD student of Cellular & Molecular in TUMS. In 2011, she joined the reviewers' committee of Journal of Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders. She has written approximately 50 scientific articles and books. Her other research interests involve lipid disorders, natural antioxidants, and metabolic syndrome.
Tehran University of Medical Sciences support Journal of Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders financially, resulting in a reduction in the article-processing charge (APC) that is payable upon editorial acceptance of an article. For articles submitted after 30 March 2015, the author-payable share of the APC is €600. Further details on the APC are available here.
Note for Iran-based authors
For authors based in Iran there is a special mechanism for covering the article-processing charge. Iran-based authors should enter the code JDMD01 during the article submission process. If this code is used, Iran-based authors do not pay an APC to the publisher; instead, TUMS arranges payments with the publisher and will invoice the APC, payable in Iranian Rials, to the authors.
